Designed for long days in the water and relaxed moments in between, our liveaboard blends the charm of a traditional Indonesian boat with the comfort of a modern surf expedition. Featuring 8 air-conditioned en-suite cabins (4 bunk and 4 twin/double), plus spacious indoor and outdoor lounge areas, it’s the perfect place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy life at sea.
SURF
Mentawai is home to some of the world’s most iconic reef breaks. A surf boat trip gives you the freedom to chase the best conditions, with our captain and surf guides planning each session around the swell, wind, tides, crowds, safety, and the group’s surfing ability. Expect 2β4 sessions a day. Designed for intermediate to expert surfers.

Specific waves can never be guaranteed. The daily plan remains flexible so our captain and surf guides can choose the best breaks based on the swell, weather, tides, and the group's surfing level.
FOOD AT SEA
Good surf days deserve good food. Enjoy three generous, freshly prepared meals each day, with fruit, snacks, and refreshments available between sessions. Our menu combines Indonesian flavours with international favourites, featuring a balanced selection of proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables, salads, and fresh local ingredients, including fish and seafood whenever possible.
We can accommodate most dietary requirements with advance notice. Water, coffee, tea, juices, soft drinks, and 12 complimentary beers per guest are included.

Off the west coast of Sumatra lies a chain of tropical islands shaped by the Indian Ocean. The Mentawais are legendary among surfers for their consistency, variety and extraordinary concentration of world-class reef breaks. Travelling by liveaboard opens a wider map. Instead of committing to one island or one wave, we can move through the archipelago and adapt the route as conditions change.

Life in Mentawai is inseparable from the sea. Villages, fishing boats, coral reefs and dense tropical landscapes create a destination that feels remote, alive and very different from everyday life on land.

From May to September, Mentawai generally receives larger and more consistent swells, with more powerful and technical conditions. From October to April, the pace is often more relaxed, with smaller surf and fewer crowds. Quality waves can arrive throughout the year, which is why Dreamsea organize trips all year long.

Wind, swell direction and tides can transform a surf forecast from one island to the next. Our advantage is mobility: if a better option is available, the liveaboard can reposition and put the group closer to the conditions we are looking for.

MINANGKABAU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (PDG)
Fly into Padang, West Sumatra. We recommend arriving at least one day before departure to protect your trip from flight or baggage delays. Airport or hotel transfers to and from the departure harbour are included.
