Book of Dreams, "At Stars End" Remix CD
 The 1997 "At Stars End" mix, as well as some of the performance nuances, was not entirely to our liking. So were taking the opportunity to improve upon the original with this new version.
The original recordings and mixes where done on a Mac using Studio Vision software which controlled the recorded audio and various pieces of semi-pro gear. All the audio and midi tracks where then sent through a Beringer 24-track mixing board to DAT tape.
The original mix was quickly mastered at a commercial mix facility.
All the original parts are being loaded onto a PC using SONAR 4 using VSampler as the sampler. Varous effects and other plug-ins complement the set up. This new system is a vastly superior to the original system.
The new mix process for each song will consist of an initial review of the parts and performances. All the main vocals and most of the main guitars will remain but many of the parts originally done with midi outboard gear will be replaced with samples. Some rearrangement of parts will also be done. Many harmony vocal will be eliminated or redone.
Each reworked song will then be mixed using the SONAR set-up.
